I am sure you are aware that there is a very real concern about the spread of the Coronavirus. The government have today moved the country from the contain phase to the delay phase.

I appreciate that in Beverley at the moment it appears like life is continuing as normal, and as Christians we do not live in fear, rather in faith in the Lord. However this is a situation we should all take seriously - and as a church we have a responsibility to act wisely. While for many us there is little to worry about personally, we need to care for the vulnerable in our midst and be vigilant about passing anything on. 

In the light of this, can I let you know the following pieces of information - 

• It is vital that if you are unwell at all (no matter how small the symptoms) you stay away from the church services and activities. The sermons will continue to be recorded and put online - usually by the middle of the week. 
• If you are in a vulnerable group due to age or a pre-existing condition, you may also wish to limit your attendance.
• Please do not make any physical contact with other people. No handshakes at the door!
• In an ideal world we would have alcohol based hand sanitiser at the door for everyone to use. However this is hard to get hold of at the moment. Please pay close attention to washing your hands using the soap provided in the bathrooms. 
• We will not be having a notice sheet for the time being to limit further hand to hand contact. We will give notices verbally from the front, and send them via email. Please also bring your own Bible. 
• There will still be tea and coffee after the service on Sunday morning, but if you are on the rota for serving it is vital that you wash your hands thoroughly. 
• As we use the individual cups and pre cut bread we can continue to share the Lord’s Supper. However it is vital that those responsible for preparing this wash their hands thoroughly.
• We will not pass the offering bag around during the service during this period. I will make it clear from the front where money can be put to give to the Lord’s work.
• Mercifully this is not a virus which seems to affect children badly. However, they are very good at spreading germs. So please could parents make sure their children’s hands are clean. 
• All regular events at the church will continue. We have however cancelled the upcoming Holiday at Home and this months Latimer Lads, as well as being unlikely to be able to run the services in the homes and hospital.
